Job Description
Role Overview:
The Workplace Engineer develops and evolves Fidelity Life’s core workplace technology platforms and services, including end‑user computing, identity and access, collaboration, messaging, and device management. The role provides deep engineering expertise across the workplace technology stack and supports the operation of these services through third‑level technical support, platform improvements, automation, and user‑centred service design, enabling secure, reliable, and productive ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deliver, and enhance workplace technology solutions that meet business and operational needs, applying sound engineering judgement to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and well‑integrated.
Maintain deep technical knowledge of workplace platform services, contributing to configuration standards, platform health, lifecycle management, and technical decision‑making across BAU and change initiatives.
Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and user feedback, translating these into clear technical designs, improvements, or automation opportunities within the workplace technology environment.
Provide technical expertise to support third level complex service requests and incident resolution, including participation in high‑impact incidents, root‑cause analysis, and post‑incident improvement activities.
Support the delivery of technology projects involving workplace services, including implementation, testing, documentation, and transition into operational support.
Identify opportunities to improve platforms, processes, and ways of working; develop and maintain technical documentation; and actively share knowledge to uplift capability across Workplace Technology and support teams.

What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Workplace Technology, Modern Workplace, End-User Computing or similar technology role
Diploma Level 5 or equivalent qualification in computing, information technology, or a related field, demonstrating a solid technical foundation
Modern Workplace related Microsoft (or equivalent) certifications are desirable
Experience:
Practical, hands-on experience across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including core productivity and collaboration suite of services
Practical, hands-on experience in end-user device management, including application packaging, policy configuration, and zero-touch builds
Practical experience working within IT service management (ITSM) processes, including incident, request, and change management
Demonstrated ability to deliver positive customer and user outcomes in a support or engineering context
Working knowledge of endpoint security and Modern Workplace security best practices, including identity, device protection, and access controls
Skills:
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on user experience, service reliability, and timely resolution
Solid technical capability across Modern Workplace technologies, including (but not limited to): MDM / Endpoint Management (Intune), Windows device management and Autopilot, Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint), Identity and Access Management (Active Directory / Entra ID), Remote access and end user computing solutions
Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, and operational procedures
Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively with support teams, infrastructure & cloud, security, and other Technology stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and workloads in a dynamic operational environment
Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
