The Opportunity

Reporting to the Claims Manager – Alliance Division, as a Claims Officer you will be responsible for the assessment and ongoing management of claims and risk exposure to Fidelity. This is achieved by liaising with advisers, customers, health professionals, lawyers other internal/external and insurance providers to ensure prudent medical and financial assessments are conducted and continued throughout the duration of the claim.

This is a permanent fulltime role based in our CBD office with flexible working arrangements available

Job Description

Some key responsibilities include.

  • End to end claims handling – Investigating, reviewing, and assessing claims in a timely manner whilst applying technical knowledge and people skills to affect fair and prompt claim closures.
  • Providing an excellent standard of customer service and response to customer queries (via the phone queue, email, and written correspondence)
  • Ongoing active management of portfolio and risk management
  • Presenting claims to the Claims Committee and Complaints Committee and providing appropriate recommendations
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, financial providers, reinsurers to obtain claim information.

About you:

With proven experience in a Life or Health insurance environment and/or claims role you can provide a high level of empathy and commitment to delivering an excellent customer experience. You are an excellent relationship builder and are solutions focused. With strong problem-solving abilities, you can achieve great resolutions.

Together with this you will bring:

  • Claims assessment experience
  • Technical understanding of medical knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work within a high performing team. 
  • Resilience and ability to work under pressure.
  •  Innovative mindset with a continuous improvement focus.
  • Intermediate Microsoft skills
  • A team player attitude
  • Solid experience in liaising with third party medical and other providers
